The campground is located at the northern end of the Tjörnes peninsula and about 20 km north of Húsavík. Situated right at the sea shore it is one of the rare campsites where one can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves and watch an unforgettable sunset right from the sleeping bag. The rich bird life with many species of sea and wading birds adds the right sound to the scene. Camping 66.12° North is a new campsite that was built in 2018. Next to it is a folklore museum and a restored turf house.
The travelling distance is about 35 km to Ásbyrgi, 80 km to lake Mývatn and 100 km to Akureyri.
