The annual dog sledding competition is held in February or March every year. The dogs and musher compete in several categories, e.g. dog sledges with different numbers of dogs and skijoring. What makes this event special from any other dog sledding race is that the dogs compete on top of the frozen lake Mývatn, next to Sigurgeir’s Bird Museum. A great event for participants and spectators alike.
