Summer solstice is the longest day of the year, when the famous white nights reach their peak because the sun has reached it’s highest position. In northern Europe this day is known and celebrated as midsummer.
Every year in June the summer solstice is celebrated with a festival dedicated to the sun in Kópasker. The small town in northeast of Iceland comes to life with a lovely cultural program and music.
