Naustið is a original family-run restaurant with a bright, mid-century mariner interior. Entering the bright yellow wooden house feels like stepping back in time and visiting grandma. Just like any grandma has a kitchen full of goodies and delicacies so does Naustið. The menu is a homie taste of Iceland with some very traditional food that is hard to find elsewhere. Alongside salmon and other fish so called ‘mashed fish’ is on the menu. Once a poor people’s food it is now a delicacy hard to find in Iceland – it cannot get more traditional than that!
Special attention is paid to first class ingredients. The seafood is fresh, vegetables are locally grown, the meat comes from local farms and the bread and cakes are homebaked, made fresh every day. Naustið is most widely known for it’s signature fish soup.
