Skúlagarður is a former boarding school and community-hall which was built in 1953-59. In recent years the house has been remodeled into a comfortable hotel with 17 double rooms with private bathrooms. The hotel is located about 50km northeast of Húsavík and operates the whole year. Of course the rooms can be used as single rooms, one room is handicapped accessible. Children are warmly welcome and it is possible to add extra beds.
The restaurant offers dinner from 6-9 p.m. and breakfast 7-10 a.m. If guests are planning a trip in the great surrounding of Ásbyrgi or the close by national park they can pre-order lunch packages. The restaurant can also easily accommodate groups up to 130 people for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel takes pride in offering friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere.
