Skúlagarður is a former boarding school and community-hall which was built in 1953-59. In recent years the house has been remodeled into a comfortable hotel with restaurant.
The focus remains on simple home-style cooking and fresh products from the area, such as lamb from local farmers, trout and salmon from the local fish farming and vegetables from the countryside. Vegetarian options are also available. The ball room can easily accommodate groups up to 130 people for meals, conferences or other gatherings while the smaller dining area offers a magnificent view over the bay. Please pre-order for larger groups.
The hotel and restaurant are located about 50km northeast of Húsavík and operate the whole year. If guests are planning a trip in the great surrounding of Ásbyrgi or the close by national park they can pre-order lunch packages.
