5th Explorers Festival

The Exploration Museum welcomes explorers and adventurers from around the world to the 5th annual Explorers Festival. Events take place in Reykjavík, Akureyri, Húsavík and at Lake Mývatn from October 13 to October 19, 2019.


Sunday Oct 13: Lake Mývatn

Tuesday Oct 15: Reykjavík – Opening day

18:30: Official opening of the Festival at Bíó Paradís

18:30 Live painting event at Bíó Paradís with Amelia Rose Earhart, around-the-world pilot.

19:00 Film Screening at Bíó Paradís:
First Man (2018)
A look at the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the Moon.
+ Q&A with Neil Armstrong’s son Mark and grandson Andrew after the film.
